Surf Movie Review – Modern Collective
Quick Facts
Yeah I know… another fag just loving this movie more than life. What a mainstream douche… But hey. In the category of “Die Hard Surf Action Movies” this movie just rocks because it makes you want to surf and gives you lots of ideas. And isn’t that what makes a perfect Surf Movie? Or what do you think makes a perfect Surf Movie?
Idea of the Movie
Modern Collective is Session based. I wonder why they came up with that just yet. It gives you a better clue about the different Surfing Breaks since every time they film from a different angle you still know
they are filming the same spot which can be tough in other movies. So Modern Collective gives you a better feel for the spots in my opinion. Also it gives us the chance of comparing the Pros better since they are surfing the same waves in one session.
Surfing
The surfing in Modern Collective is just sick and I guess what is humanly possible at the moment. They are jumping higher and surf faster than anything I have ever seen. Even though they don’t land
every move it is still sick to watch. The worldclass camera work and editing by Kai Neville really make you want to surf even more and really supports the idea and vibe of the movie. In my mind the
best editing I have ever seen in a surf movie.
Music
The music is just scoring 11 out of 10. From Oldies to Electro Music it is supporting the pictures every step of the way. I added the whole soundtrack to my iPod months ago and still have it running up and down.
You can find the list of the featured tracks here: http://www.surfertunes.com/film/view/id/526/PSP-Modern-Collective By the way this is a pretty decent site for surf music featured in surf movies. I really like
the new style of music that has found its way into surf movies but some surf rock every once in a while doesn’t hurt as well. How do you guys feel about that?
Conclusion
One of the best surf movies in my library when it comes to “action” surf movies.
Question for You
How do you guys feel about Modern Collective? What else would you like to read about in a surf movie review?
Of course all Spots featured in the movie are on the surftripmap which you should check out here
More on Modern Collective
I have two links for you. One is Paul Fisher, a Reef Pro, on the Modern Collective Premiere Party in L.A. which is pretty funny. The dude in general is hilarious. The embedded video
is director Kai Neville talking about the movie with some background info. BTW the song featured in the second video is: Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Zero (Erol Alkan rework re-edit). I embedded
a video featuring this song as well.

That is cool that we are able to get the home loans and it opens up new possibilities.
The home loans suppose to be useful for people, which are willing to start their own organization. By the way, it is very comfortable to get a secured loan.
